From today it finally ended my connection with the forum of Swishzone. The forum of users and developers of the software that was an alternative to Adobe (AKA Macromedia) Flash, however cheaper and simpler to use. Being a almost fanatic user, even with my language limitation i tried to help others using this software with over 7600 posts since 2004 for free.
I do not admit non-compliance with a customer, not that I am special, but with all these years of dedication to the cause i think i deserve at least some respect. Even from a simple forum Moderator.
From 1999 until 2006 it was with pleasure that I used this software. But what happened in the last couple years is absolutely ridiculous.
After having made us lose years to learn this software, the company resolves to make a radical change in how we use the software. This obviously required to relearn the software almost from scratch.
With effort I tried. The problem is that the software was not ready to be marketed, but the company, in an attempt to save it financially resolves to STOP the updates of the earlier software and FORCES users to use (read BUY) the new, unreliable, software.
That was the biggest mistake that this company ever did.
From that moment it was evident the decrease of users and participants in the forum. Of course nobody wanted to use a software which in addition to be hard to use, it was unreliable. Logically, we feel ourselves as if we were betrayed by this company.
I only regret of the nearly 10 years I lost to learn how to use this software that eventually become the biggest disappointment I knew. Perhaps comparable with Windows Vista but even worse.
Worse, because this software helped me to work and earn some money. As the tool has become difficult to use and unreliable it was impossible to meet deadlines with clients, in addition to burn me the brain width unexpected bugs all the time.
I am frustrated with this company mainly because I did believe I was using a software with a great future but I feel betrayed.
Roger Onslow (software developer) is the best and the worst staff member of this company. Simply because he always knows everything about anything. But he never admits he’s wrong. Why do you need beta testers if you don’t listen them?
I’m done with this software.
I’ll try basic HTML and start learn Flash 8 which seems to be “similar“. And that’s what i should have learned in first place instead of making compromises with a faulty software.
